About brCTF·Building Ghana's Cyber Future

Forging the digital defenders of tomorrow.

brCTF (Break the Code CTF) is a Ghana-based cybersecurity competition focused on developing practical, real-world security skills and strengthening the country's growing cyber ecosystem.

It was created to address a clear gap between theoretical cybersecurity education and the hands-on skills required in real-world environments. Since its inception, brCTF has grown into a recognized platform for identifying and developing cybersecurity talent, while encouraging continuous learning and collaboration within the industry.

Why brCTF Exists

Closing the gap between theory and real-world cybersecurity practice.

As the digital landscape continues to expand, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals continues to grow. Traditional learning paths often emphasize theory, leaving a gap in practical, real-world application.

brCTF was established to help close this gap by providing an environment where participants can apply their knowledge, solve realistic challenges, and develop the critical thinking skills required in modern cybersecurity roles.

Origin Story

Built in Ghana to turn cybersecurity theory into operational readiness.

brCTF was launched by the brCTF Organising Committee as a Ghana-first platform to solve a practical problem: capable learners were graduating with theory, but not enough live, hands-on experience for modern attack and defense environments.

Why It Started

To close the gap between classroom knowledge and the real workflows required in security operations and offensive testing.

Who Started It

The brCTF Organising Committee, in collaboration with academia and industry contributors across Ghana's cyber ecosystem.
